"Funeral Rites Held for Mrs. G. Durand"

     Funeral services were held for Mrs. George Durand Saturday at 2:00 o'clock at the Herse Funeral Home, Rev. Nixon Knight officiating. Due to weather and road conditions burial in the St. Edward cemetery was not made until Sunday afternoon.

     Those attending the services from out of town were Raymond Forry and Mr. and Mrs. William Forry of Englewood, Colo., Emily Brinegar of Omaha, Amie Morrison of Blair and a cousin L. O. Kingdon of North Platte.

Notes: Maiden name Josephine R. Kingdon, daughter of Charles Kingdon & Esther Gugin. Born Nov 1873 in Washington Co., NE. Was first married to James Forry; had 3 sons - Walter, William & Raymond. Married second to George Durand who survived her. Obit mentions 2 surviving sisters.

"George Durand funeral was March 25 in Albion"

     George Durand was born the son of Alfred and Sarah Durand on Dec. 18, 1882 at Gresham. He died March 23, 1972 at Albion at the age of 89.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.

     He is survived by one brother, Clyde Durand of Columbus; by one sister, Ollie Johnson of Calivornia; four nephews, Georg Durand of Columbus; Jim Durand and Gordon Durand of Omaha and George Durand of Fremont. He is also survived by two nieces, DeEtta Bradley of Kearney and Marie Crose of Paola, Ks.

     Services were conducted by Rev. L. V. Anderson at the Levander Funeral Home in Albion Saturday afternoon, March 25 at 2:00 p.m. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at St. Edward.

     Pallbearers were Robert L. Nelson, Harold F. Kinzer, Jim Durand, George Durand, Lee Traxler and George Durand.
