NEW LEXINGTON NORTHEAST FROM COURT-HOUSE

PHILO ALBERT KELSO, D. D. S.

     Is a native of Fairfield County, and
was born near Laurelville in 1876. His
education was obtained in the public
schools, Pleasantville Academy, and
the Ohio State University. He grad-
uated in 1908 with the B. A. and A. M.
degrees, and for high scholarship was
voted a member of the Phi Betta
Kappa Society. Began teaching at the
age of seventeen and was Principal of
Arcanum High School; also Principal
of New Lexington High School during
1908-1909. Elected Superintendent in
1909 for two years. Professor Bussert
demonstrated his high scholarship and
ability while Principal, and his elec-
tion to his present position is regarded
as recognition of merit.  Professor
Bussert was for several years con-
nected with the E. R. Dumont Com-
pany, publishers of rare and de-luxe
editions of books, and is therefore
familiar with the choicest literature of
all ages. His varied attainments be-
speak a successful career as an in-
structor. Fraternally, he is a K. of P.
and enjoys already a high degree of
popularity in New Lexington.


NEW LEXINGTON NORTHWEST FROM COURT-HOUSE

     The subject of this sketch is a native
of Erie, Pa., where he was born in
1875, and is the son of A. C. and
Livonia Kelso. Graduated from Erie
High School with high honors, and in
1898 engaged in the electric business,
studying dentistry at the same time
with Dr. R. N. Randall, of Kane, Pa.
Entered Ohio Medical College in 1902,
matriculating in the Dental Depart-
ment, and in 1903 matriculated in
Medicine. Graduated in class of 1905
with degree of Doctor of Dental Sur-
gery.   Began practice in Columbus
with Dr. T. C. Lentz, and in March,
1907, located in New Lexington, where
he now has an extensive and growing
practice.   His dental parlors over
Perry County Bank are the most up-
to-date in the county, having electric
outfits and fountain cuspidors. The
doctor has high skill in all kinds of
bridge and crown work, and is second
to none in his profession. His pain-
less extraction has won him many ad-
miring patrons.
     The doctor married Miss Zulieme
Ferguson, daughter of Attorney John
Ferguson, and two boys, Robert and
John P., bless the union. Dr. Kelso
is a Mason, Odd Fellow, and a mem-
ber of XI Psi Phi fraternity. He
stands high in the community, both as
dentist and citizen.
