Thorn Township

FRANK R. CLEMSON, M. D.

     Doctor Clemson is a resident of
Thornville, and is the son of Dr. G.
W. Clemson and Almeda (Whitmer)
Clemson.
     He was born in Glenford in 1875,
and educated in the Thornville schools
and Ohio University, entered Starling
Medical and graduated in 1898 with
degree of Doctor of Medicine. Prac-
ticed one year in Thornville then took
a post-graduate course in New York
City, returned to Thornville and has
been there ever since in the enjoyment
of a large practice. Doctor Clemson
has traveled extensively, takes an
interest in public affairs, is town Treas-
urer, and village Clerk. Is prominent
as Mason and Modern Woodman, ex-
aminer for New York Life, Equitable
and other life insurance companies.
Is a Democrat and a Methodist.
     Married Miss Alice Sherman in 1902.
and two children, Paul and Alice, bless
the union.
     Doctor Clemson resides in a hand-
some home, and is a high type of the
successful physician.

W. A. HITE,
ATTORNEY

    Among those mem
bers of the Perry
County Bar who are
bound to make their
mark in life, we may
mention the subject of
this sketch, Mr. Will-
iam A. Hite, of Thorn-
ville. He is a native
of the county, son of
Elijah and Caroline
Hite, and. was born in
Thorn Township, Octo-
ber 1, 1879.
     His education was ob-
tained in the public
schools and Ohio State
University, graduating
from latter in 1902 with
degree of B. L. He was
the same year admitted
to practice, and opened
an office in Thornville where he now
has a wide and varied law   business.
Mr. Hite is prominent in the town's
affairs, is village attorney, counsel
for the Thornville Banking  Company
and one of its directors, a Mason, Odd







Fellow, Woodman and a Granger.
Married Miss Fay Sherman in 1902,
and one daughter, Grace Pauline,
blesses the union. Before entering the
law he was a prominent teacher for
seven years.

CHARLES H. PARRETT

     Professor Parrett is the Principal of
the Thornville High School. He is a
native of the County, son of W. A.
and Jemima Parrett, and was born
September 13, 1879, in Thorn Town-
ship. Educated in the public schools,
Ohio State University and Lima Col-
lege. Began teaching six years ago,
and has taught four years in Thorn-
ville. Professor Parrett is a hard stud-
ent, ambitious to advance, and careful
in all of this work.
     His popularity in all walks is very
great. He is a Mason fraternally, and
takes a keen interest in all the affairs
of the county and in all educational
matters.

O. J. LETHERMAN, M. D.

     Is a native of Licking County, son
of J. L. and M. J. Letherman, and was
born in Hanover May 23, 1882, edu-
cated in the High School and in
Doane's Academy. Entered the Ohio
Medical University in 1899 and gradu-
ated in 1903 with degree of Doctor of
Medicine. Began practice in Outville,
and located in Thornville, 1904. Here
he has a large and growing practice,
and is very successful as well as pop-
ular in all circles. He is a member
of the county and American Medical
Societies, also the Columbus Academy

Medical Society.  The Doctor is a
Mason, Odd Fellow, Granger, Modern
Woodman and a Maccabee. His life
is a busy one, and the indications point
to a continued increase of practice.
     This company was incorporated in
January, 1908, and succeeded the
Shelley Brothers, who had conducted
the business very successfully for about
ten years. The present officers of the
company, who are prominent and well-
known men of business, are: D. E.
Shelley, president; J. O. Stephens, vice
president and manager, and W. A.
King, secretary and treasurer. They
occupy a large store on the main
street, Thornville, occupying all of the
first floor, with warerooms attached.
Their stock is a large one, embracing
everything in hardware, implements,
buggies, harness, paints and oils.
