purchased his present business of W.
V. Zartman, and, with N. W. Roberts
as partner, .successfully carried it on
for thirteen years, the last two years
being sole proprietor.
Mr. Findley's lines consist of gen-
eral merchandise, farm implements
and buggies; a large variety of dry
goods and stoves are always in stock;
and the highest price is paid for coun-
try produce. The business has ex-
panded year by year, the trade now
being one of the largest in that sec-
tion of the county.
Mr. Findley is an enterprising mer-
chant, as well as quick to advance the
interests of Glenford. He has served
as president of the School Board for
the past five years, and was active in
the building of the new Glenford
schoolhouse.
MAURICE S. RARICK, M. D. Dr. Rarick is a native of Perry
County, and was born in Glenford,
June 1, 1879. He is a son of Simon
and Elizabeth Rarick. His education
was obtained in the Thornville High
School. In 1899 he entered the Star-
ling Medical College, Columbus, grad-
uating in 1903 with the degree of Doc-
tor of Medicine. Began practice in
Glenford, and is now recognized in
that section of the county as very
successful. He is examiner of many
life insurance companies, and his prac-
tice extends into Licking County. He
married Miss Anna Witmer and one
boy, Merrill F., blesses the union. Dr.
Rarick is a prominent Maccabee, and
very popular in all circles.
PROF. PAUL TAGUE Prominent among the educators of
the county is Professor Paul Tague.
He is a native, son of Peter and Mary
Tague, and was born in Harrison
Township, November 8, 1881. His
education was obtained at the district
school and New Lexington High
School, and at the Ohio Northern
University (Ada). Began teaching in
fall of 1899, and is now Superintendent
of the Monroe Schools, having forty-
five subordinates under him, and hav-

ing the High School at Drakes. He
is serving his first year as president of
the Perry County Teachers' Institute,
and is in great demand as lecturer and
speaker at teachers' associations. Pro-
fessor Tague is politically a Republi-
can, and fraternally a K of C. and
A. O. H. He has made his own way
in the world and secured his education
and positions by merit and industry.
Whatever leisure time he has is occu-
pied in the study of law. His popu-
larity as instructor and as a young
man of high character is recognized
in all circles.
E. E. THOMPSON Mr. Thompson is a native of Mus-
kingum County. Purchased his pres-
ent business in Mt. Perry two years
ago, last April. Had five years' experi-
ence in similar trade before locating
there. He has a large store, carrying
a full line of general merchandise,
boots, shoes, groceries, dry goods, etc.
He is also agent for the American
woven fence, and is an extensive
buyer of all kinds of country produce,
paying the highest market price for
the same at all times. Mr. Thompson
enjoys a large trade which is con-
stantly growing. He has the confi-
dence of all who know him.

Mr. E. Shafer began the present
business in Glenford in 1904, securing
for the display of his large stock the
old Central High School building, a
large and substantial brick structure on
Main Street and right in the heart of
town. His stock consists of general
hardware, harness, robes, whips, col-
lars, pumps, piping and fitting, paints,
oils, stoves and kitchen furnishings. He
also does all kinds of repair work, and
conducts a heating and ventilating de-
partment in which he is prepared to in-
stall heating and illuminating devices
at moderate prices. Mr. Shafer's trade
has grown rapidly and he enjoys the
confidence of all who know him.
W. R. HAZLETT W. R. Hazlett is the proprietor of
Glenford's leading general store. He
succeeded Ice & Starkey one year ago,
and has made himself very popular

with his trade. He carries a fine line
of groceries, tobacco, confectionery,
overalls, shirts, shoes and general
merchandise. He buys all kinds of
produce at the highest market price.
Mr. Hazlett has lived all his life in
the county, and is well liked because of
his genial, accommodating ways.
THE GLENFORD MANUFACTUR- The Glenford Manufacturing Com-
pany are dealers in lumber and coal
and manufacturers of crates, boxes,
flooring, siding and planing-mill line.
The company was established Febru-
ary 24, 1904. The following well-
known business men are the officers
and managers: George E. Ice, presi-
dent; W. S. Johnston, vice president;
D. H. King, treasurer; George
Swinehart, secretary and manager.
They have a modern and well-equipped
plant, give steady employment to
twenty hands, and enjoy a large trade
which is constantly expanding.
J. D. FINDLEY Mr. Findley is a native of Pennsyl-
vania. He came to Glenford in 1894,
