Description of Dilley Family Coat
of Arms that Bob Dilley has:
The crest as you look at it has a knights helmet with
the visor closed, pointing to the left. It is surrounded by some
line drawings in a nice scrolling pattern. Directly underneath
the Knights head is a banner in which the name Dilley is imprinted.
Beneath that is what appears to be a shield, flat across the
top, and coming down to a point at the bottom. Inside the shield
is three bird heads. I cannot determine for sure whether they
are supposed to be falcon or eagle heads. One is top left in
the shield, one is placed top right in the shield and one is placed
at the bottom center of the shield, directly underneath the peak
of what I would call a chevron. It is a wide stripe that starts
in the curve of the shield on each side near the bottom and goes
up and in towards the center of the shield where it meets in the
middle. The sides of the shield are surrounded by that same
scrolling pattern which stops before it reaches the bottom point
of the shield creating an open area. In addition the certificate
that accompanies the crest reads "Certificate of Authenticity.
This is to certify that the Coat of Arms described hereon has
been used in centuries past by a person or family with the Surname
DILLEY or an onomatological variant there of and is therefore
judged to be associated with this name. Arms Description:
"Gules a chevron argent between three hawks' heads erased
or."
