1856, Charles Fenn, cooper, living on Jefferson between Harrison and Polk; from Germany; resident of Chicago 4 years.

1859-60, house at 329 S. Jefferson.

John Fehn as a bartender, living on 187 Randolph St., and Charles Fenn as a tailor, home at 254 W. Polk Ave. in the Smith & DeMoulin's Chicago Direcotry for the year ending May 1, 1860.

John Fehn owns a saloon at 121 & 123 N. Clark, residence at 187 Randolph St., Charles Fenn as a tailor, residence at 100 Blue Island Ave., Christian Fenn as a saloonkeeper at 246 W. 12th, residence at same, in the Edwards Chicago Direcotry of 1866.

George Fehn lives at Wells, SE corner Ontario, John Fehn owns a saloon, residence at Clark SW corner Ohio, Christian owns a saloon lives a W. 12th SE corner of Union, John Fenn is a carpenter and boards at 875 State St., all listed in the Edwards Chicago Directory & Census report for 1872.

Carl David Fehn- On 12 Oct. 1796 was born to inhabitant and neighbor J. Valentin Fehn, from his wife Ida Elisabetha Beyersdorfer. The Godfather was: Carl David Beyersdorfer, District Forester of Bettenburg, whom the child was named Carl David after."

"Carl Fehn & Margaretha Sterz- In the year 1829, on March first, was Carl Fehn, Buttnermeister (occupation??) inhabitant and neighbor of Walchenfeld, along with Margaretha Sterz, likewise from there, ____following public marriage banns, the wedding was held. The request was given by the Bridegroom's Godfather, Mr. Karl Beyersdorfer, Forester of the Bettenburg, and Peter Fischer, school teacher from Walchenfeld.

Georg Sterz, afterwards Fehn: On 21 Oct 1825, Anna Margaretha Sterz, daughter of Georg Sterz, inhabitant and neighbor in Walchenfeld, gave birth to the son of her illigitimate lover. The godfather was the mother's brother, George Sterz, only son of Zimmerermeisters (Carpenter master) Andreas Sterz from Rentweinsdorf. Georg Sterz, afterwards named Fehn because his mother married Karl Fehn from Walchenfeld in 1829. He migrated to America with his parents.
