Dear Jack,

I am taking the privilege of writing you about Asa Dille Sr., son of David Dille Sr.,
about his birthyear. I noted in Teddy's e-mail collection that you were interested in
Asa. I was long puzzled by his birthyear of 1767 which did not fit the ages of his
children given in the Dilley Book by George E. Dille, and with an incomplete list of
birth years. Then I found another set of births for his children in the records of David
Buel Dille, the Mormon son of David Jr. These fit his birth year of 1767 and the ages
of the two Sailor girls that David and Asa married. There was also a good list of the
children's births.

I am sending you a copy of the application of David Dille Jr. for a Rev. War pension
which was accompanied by an affidavit from Asa Sr. confirming his brother's service
and giving his age of nine years in 1776 when the whole family of David Sr. moved
from New Jersey to Washington Co., PA.

I am curious to know what your interest is in Asa Dille, and whether you have some
records not found by me. I hope you will find my compilations useful.
