was born ca. 1845 and he is not listed after the 1840 census. His
family is found on the 1850 Bearfield, Perry County census without a father.
Ezra House was born 6 Oct 1838 Perry Co, OH. He is listed
on the 1850 census living with his mother Anna House. They were living next door to two families by
the name of Street.
Ezra HOUSE married Julia Ann Tatman
14 Sep 1856 in Bearfield Township of Perry County, OH. Surety by Joshua Tatman.
They resided in Fairfield Co, OH in 1860. Ezra House enlisted in Co F, 159th Ohio
Infantry on May 2, 1864 at Camp Dennison for 100 days. He was mustered in on
May 10, 1864 at Zanesville, OH. The muster card states he was born in
Perry,OH and was age 26. His occupation was farmer. A description of Ezra House on
the the muster card shows: Eyes - blue, Hair - light, Complexion - light, Height
- 5'
6 ". Ezra had one known brother William House who also served in the 159th OH Infantry.
Ezra and Julia moved to Washington Co, Iowa sometime before 1866. They moved
to Smith Co, KS before 1880 where they are listed on the census. Before 1900, they
moved to Red Cloud, NE where Ezra found his final resting place.
Ezra House died 17 May 1919 and the obituary states Maggie preceded him in death
by 31 years. This would put her death date ca 1888. The obituary also said
Ezra was the father of 12 children. He did not remarry after Julia's death.
