Epilogue

It is now June 29, 1990, and time to bring this family history to a close in the hope that it will be at the publishers by mid-July.

Writing this Family History has been a challenge and interesting past time. When I realized that I was the only member of our family who has spent over 70 years in one locality, it dawned on me that I had a lot of experience and memories that no other member could relate and record.

There is much that I have missed that won't ever be recovered. I could have learned much more from sister Lillian and Uncle Charlie if I had known then that I would be writing a family history. Again hindsight is always better than foresight. I have tried in my own simple way to describe events as I believe they were. I am not one to bend the truth to make it look good.

In these last few months I have found help that was unexpected. I feel deeply indebted for the encouragement and help that has been provided by my daughter Carol and her friend, Leonard Ernst. The use of Leonard's computer processor and printing equipment has done wonders. Without their use we may never have accomplished getting it all in type written form.

A few people have read excerpts from my writing and have urged me to complete it. I want to say thank you to all who have encouraged and helped so willingly and capably. Without that I may not have ever been able to do it.

Sincerely and lovingly,

Clarence W. Truman
