In 1801 Robert moved to Bullskin Creek, Clay Co. Ky.  He was a private in  Col. Darke's Regiment during St Clair's Defeat. A major in the 2nd Bn. 68th Knox Co. Militia, A Lt. in Capt. McJiltons Co., Col Wm. Williams 11th Kentucky Regiment, at the Battle of Thames.
