The surnames in my family both maternal and paternal are from the South Eastern Kentucky Counties.  Maternal being from Clay, Owsley, Perry and Jackson. Paternal from Letcher, Bath, Breathitt and Harlan.  Most of my research to this point has been on the maternal side as I have run into a solid brick wall with my Spence line.
