Biography:
W. Kent Hedges currently serves as the Regional Environmental Manager for Kleinfelder, Inc. in Temecula, CA.
A Texas native, Kent received his bachelors degree from USC, where he majored in civil engineering, in 1991. He participated in the NROTC Program and was commissioned an Ensign in the U.S. Navy in March 1991.
While part of the ROTC unit, Kent was a squad leader, company commander and Yearbook editor. He also played trombone in the USC Marching band and was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity.
Kent’s military tours included: USS Long Beach (CGN-9), San Diego, Ca., where he held various billets including Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer, Gunnery Officer, Second Division Officer, Public Affairs Officer and Assistant Personnel Officer (1991-1994). After being accepted for a line to staff transfer to the Civil Engineering Corps in 1994, he held various billets including Resident Officer in Charge of Construction, Little Creek, Va.; (1994-1995); Student, Civil Engineer Corps Officers’ School, Port Hueneme, Ca., (1995). Deputy Officer in Charge of Construction, Marine Corps Air Station, El Toro, Ca., (1995-1998); Public Works Department, Public Works Officer, Marine Corps Air Station, Camp Pendleton, Ca., (1998-2002) and Assistant Public Works Officer, Public Works Office, Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, Ca., (2002-2005). Kent transferred into the IRR in 2005 and will be promoted to Lieutenant Commander in October 2006.
Kent is a qualified Surface Warfare Officer and a warranted Navy Contracting officer. He is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers.
Lieutenant Hedges’ military decorations include: three Navy Commendation Medals and the Navy Achievement Medal.
He is married to the former Jennifer Rowe of Yorba Linda, Ca. They have three sons, Nicholas, Noah and Logan and reside in Fallbrook, CA.
