Second Lieutenant Rodney Carl Rodriguez USMC

Second Lieutenant Rodney Carl Rodriguez is a native of Santa Rosa, California. He attended
Galena High School in Reno, Nevada, where he participated in swimming, diving, and football
athletic events. He also severed as the Battalion Commander of Galena's Army Junior ROTC
battalion. In fall 1995, Second Lieutenant Rodriguez accepted a Marine Corps ROTC
scholarship to attend the University of Southern California.
As an active member of the Trojan Battalion, Second Lieutenant Rodriguez has held the billets
of Squad Leader, Color Guard Commander, Platoon Commander, and Operations Officer. He graduates
with a dual degree in Political Science and Psychology.
During his midshipmen career, Second Lieutenant Rodriguez has been awarded the professor of
Naval Science award and the John F Gibson USNR Memorial Sword. Upon commissioning, he reported
to The Basic School in Quanticao, Virginia, and subsequently to Naval Flight School in
Pensacola, Florida for Naval Flight Officer Training.
