Biography:
Born in Subic Bay Naval Hospital on Dec 7, 1972. Although a military dependent, Ms Arvizo attented the University of
Santo Tomas High School in Manilla and graduated in 1989. She went further with her studies at the same school and decided to major
in Electronics and Communications Enginnering. Seeking better opportunities, Ms Arvizo enlisted in the US Navy and left the Philippines
in 1992. Upon completion of boot camp training and AME "A" School, she received orders to report to VQ-1 squadron in Agan, Guam and
later relocated to Whidbey Island, WA. During her tout, Ms Arvizo was sent to several detachment sites such as Behrain, Japan, Thailand,
Korea, and Pax River, MD.
In 1996, she was selected for the Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training Program and then received the Naval Reserve
Officer Training Corps Scholarship. Ms Arvizo came to the University of Southern California in the fall of 1997 to pursue a Bachelors
Degree in Computer Engineering and Computer Science. While in NROTC, she held the billets of Squad Leader, Yearbook Coordinator, and Plans
Officer.
After commissioning, Ms Arvizo will be attending the Surface Warfare School in Newport, RI and will then go through the Surface Nuke Pipline before
reporting to the USS VINCENNES in Yokosuka, Japan.
