Biography:

Hazel G Awit is from Downey, CA. She attended Downey High School and in 1997 accepted the NROTC Scholarship and came to the University of Southern California.

As a member of the Trojan Battalion, Hazel Awit acted in the role as a Squad Leader. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She was a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta and Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Societies.

In the course of her midshipman career, Hazel Awit was awarded the Academic Star, the Academic Achievement Medal, the National Sojourners Medal, and the Sons of the American Revolution Medal.

Upon receiving her commission in the Nursing Corps, Ensign Awit reported to her first duty station at San Diego Naval Medical Hospital in San Diego, CA.
