Biography:
Leonardo N Rodriguez was born in Queens, NY, and graduated from high school in Fort
Lauderdale, FL. In June of 1991, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He reported to
the Naval Hospital in San Diego for Hospital Corpsman training. In October of 1994, he
was the only student to complete the Marine corps Reconnaissance (Special Forces) Course
in the three years before doing so. In September of 1995, he reported to Broadened
Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training (BOOST) program in Newport, RI. Upon
graduation, Leonardo Rodriguez began his studies at the University of Southern California.
Leonardo Rodriguez was an active member of the Trojan Battalion. He held the billets of:
Squad Leader, Nursing Liaison, and Athletics Officer. In addition, he received numerous
awards, to include, Outstanding Physical Readiness Award, the Outstanding Academic Performance
Award, and represented the USC NROTC at the 1997 South Eastern Regional Physical Readiness
Competition in San Diego, CA.
While attending USC, Leonardo Rodriguez received recognition at USC, to include, The Deans
List and Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society.
Leonardo Rodriguez receved a major in Nursing, with a minor in Natural Science en route
to application to medical school. He was awarded the Health Professions Scholarship Program
(HPSP) for attending medical school at the University of Southern California in 2001.
