This web site is for anyone interested in researching the genealogy and history of the VEACH, VEATCH, VEECH and VEITCH surnames in any location throughout the world.
You may wish to bookmark this page and return often as new material will be added as time and new research permits. We are here to help people by sharing information, sources and techniques that have been helpful and that may be helpful to others. Several countries and many different branches of the Veitch tree are represented on these lists.

You may want to print this page for future reference. Mail lists are helpful and easy to use. All subscribers to the list will receive a copy of any questions or messages that you wish to send to the list but, you must be a subscriber to post to the list. That way, there is a better chance that your query will be answered.

To subscribe to any of the surname lists, send the message "subscribe", without the quotes. Be sure to turn off all signatures before you send the message to:

This is for regular mail mode. You will receive all your posts and each post as a separate piece of mail.

To unsubscribe, send the message "unsubscribe" without the quotes to the same address you subscribed. If you go on vacation, or are unable to access your e-mail for a time, you may want to unsubscribe until you return. A No Mail mode is not available for these lists. Remember to turn off all signatures before you send.
ACCEPTABLE POSTS
- Most messages about the VEACH, VEATCH, VEECH and VEITCH surnames are okay. Please keep the length under 10k.
- Don't send a descendent chart for your entire line. Post a couple of generations and offer to e-mail to any who are interested.
- Don't use "signatures" (list of surnames you are researching).
- Don't post copyrighted material. This includes e-mail from others, articles from books, newspapers, etc. If you must post these types of items, be sure to get the copyright holder's permission and post it along with your quote. I will delete any copyright infringements without notice. If you are unsure, please ask me first.
- Don't air your disagreements on the lists. No arguing, "flaming", derogatory or negative personal comments will be allowed. Remember, also, these kind of comments are not appropriate even privately. You may disagree politely, just don't let it get out of hand.
- Don't send attachments to these lists. These are usually large and most people will not open attachments. If you have something to share, that needs to be sent as an attachment, offer to send it privately to any who may request it.
- Don't send any virus warnings.
- Commercial posts are not acceptable.
- When you reply to a message, please don't quote the entire message. Quote only the parts that you are answering and delete the rest, including the tags at the end of all messages.
Archives
All RootsWeb mail lists are archived. There are over 2 million messages on all of RootsWeb. If you wish to search the "Threaded Archives", you will need to go to http://archiver.rootsweb.com/. You can search any of RootsWeb lists at http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl will access individual mailing lists. Use this and tell it you want to search (the name of the list).
