Thomas F. Deagan next appeared at the "Pithole" boom town oil field about 12 miles northeast of Oil City, PA. The Pithole is now a historical site. He then went to the Bradford, PA oil fields in 1881 and was a highly respected active crude oil producer there for 26 years in addition to other business ventures. Thomas died in Bradford, PA on 14 Jul 1917 and is buried in the Degolier cemetery near Bradford. In 1909 Frank was in business in Bradford, PA with his father, Thomas F., who owned a business called The Standard Saw Company. Frank later was the owner of the Bradford Rubber Works. By 1923, he was the owner of F.H. Deagan & Son, Delco Light and Radio Dealers with his son Hubert F. Frank and Viola were divorced on 6 February 1928. At the time of the divorce he was living in Buffalo, NY. In his later years Frank was married to Clara. They lived in Olean and Portville, NY. Frank died on 8 June 1952 at Portville, Cattaraugus Co., NY and is buried in Degolier Cemetery near Bradford, PA. Mike had an avocation as a talented musician. He played the trumpet professionally from high school until he was in his 70's. His primary occupation from the late 1940's until about 1980 was in the insurance field as a salesman and as an appraiser. Mike was very intelligent and had a high degree of mechanical aptitude. He was a "fixer" of things electrical or mechanical. He died on 8 June 1981 at Pensacola, FL of cancer of the pancreas and old age. His body was cremated and his ashes are with Tim Deagan in Austin, TX.
Tom enlisted in the Navy in July 1945 and served for 25 years in the Naval Weather Service.
After retirement, he sold real estate, then was sales manager for a large real estate company and taught the State Real Estate License course in Pensacola, Florida. In 1982 he started his "third" career and designed and created sterling silver jewelery which he sold at Art Festivals and in Galleries until 1999. |
