32. Guy Wadhams

It was the age of migration. They set up housekeeping first in Goshen then moved to Litchfield CT and on to Chicago IL.
After his Guy's death Clarissa moved back to Goshen.


33. Clarissa Chapin

Had 7 children survive to adulthood but no male issue except from Fred.

Des Moines, IA. This reference says she was b 28 oct 1833! Grand Master

36. Thomas Wiltsie

Moved to Perinton, Monroe Co. NY in 1834 from Duanesburg NY, on a packet boat on the original Erie Canal, and lived there until his death. Dates by CH Wiltsie in petition to Pioneer Centennial Committee of Rochester, NY 1934. Hist of Monroe Co. NY 1877 shows him as a Deacon of the Pittsford Baptist Church.


37. Rachel Brownell

Information CH Wiltsie. Moved to Perinton,Monroe,NY with her family in 1834.


38. Isaac Hastings

Moved to Canandaigua and married Emily who he probably knew in Mass. Lived Fairport and built a business in Bushnell's Basin as a commission merchant on the original Erie Canal. Moved to New York City in 1845 residing in West 33rd and and 34th Streets. Returned to Pittsford in 1868 living there until his death.. Oral history Elmira W Hastings 1924, by C. H. Wiltsie.

40. Frederick Shafer

Is shown in census in Clarkson NY with children as shown. Shown in 1840 with Jacob Shafer living nearby. They were spelled "Shaver" but the children matched. Burried plot M39 Methodist Church Garland, Monroe Co. NY. Merchant at Ladd's Crs (Garland) joined the Methodist church 8Jan1825. (Clarkson Town Hist.). IGI calls him Johann Frederick Schaeffer which is probably what he was baptised.

42. Moses Jennings

MSW, Bible, 1928 letter. Moses Jennings served in the war of 1812. 1840NY167 shows him a farmer in Clarkson. Listed in NJ War Rec R23 Corporal in Peter Cole's Co of Inf. in "Hulls army in march to Detroit." Lived Murray Twp Orleans Co NY. See deed of 1847 Wm Jennings (dec) to Samuel Beemer and wife Zurviah being da of William 27:450 of deeds in Orleans Co at Albion NY. also parties to the deed were Moses of Clarkson, Monroe Co NY, William of Murray Twp, Orleans Co and John Jennings of Sweden Twp, Monroe Co NY.A deed 30Mar1847 (47/284) transfered land in Murray Twp to his bro William W. (& wife Eliz) and John (alone). Letter of 1928 from Alan Hamilton says Moses was from "Burgen NJ" a town which later changed it's name. (not so he is shown on the 1830 census in Wantage Twp.!) Bounty Land Warrants: 57,648-40-50 & 15,145-120-55 probably in Hudson, MI.


43. Sarah Martin

Letter 28 May 1928 from Alan Hamilton (Burbank CA) To Marian S. Wadhams,
my mother discussing genealogy in which he says Sarah was a Baptist, (corrected information by census) in Wantage, Sussex Co NJ and baptised by Zelotes Grinnel. Sarah Jennings was the last widow of the war of 1812 when she died at age 94 in the home of Bell Fox in South Bend Indiana. "Sarah Martin's brother was Governor of Kansas (maybe Maryland) at one time." "They named a son after their beloved pastor in NJ. Try Stickney's "Old Sussex Families." One source says her parents were Nathaniel and Phila Martin. 1830 census Wantage, Sussex Co. NJ shows a Nathaniel age 60-69.


44. Samuel Penfield Goodsell

Was disabled in War of 1812. Served twice in War with his brother in defence of Sackets Harbor. Goodsell Bible in my posession, and Goodsell Gen 36,74 #73. His petition for pension was declined because his disability was from a log that fell on him while building a barracks. Married by Rev. Truman Enos, Westmoreland NY in the village of Bartlett. No record of other children.


45. Mercy Cushman Barker

Sarah Goodsell's Bible given 1886 by Mercy 2 years prior to her death. The hamlet of Bartlett is in Westmoreland Township, Oneita Co., NY "She died at the home of her son in Bartlett New York" Birth is recorded by Sarah in her bible. Barker 347.

Prodigy report from James Hammer (VFJG60A) Says Hartwell, BW, and Tom
buried in the Walnut Grove Church yard. Possibly his first name is
Benjamin! Vr showing Patti's marriage refs to "da of Benj." 1870 census
shows them in Charlotte Co. VA (VA1870149 on roll 1640 of NARS M-593).


53. Mary Malone Harper

Security for the marriage bond was Robert Moore; Meckinburg Co Marriage records 1811-1853. Prestwood ch DAR, South Hill VA p11.Dr. T H Jennings of Bedford reports Mary is in Walnut Cr. Cem Bedford Co. VA. (Cem #68 in Bedford Co Historical Soc survey.) David Harper mentions Martha the youngest Da of Hartwell and Mary. We are not sure whether he is her father or her uncle.


54. Malcolm Arthur Moseley

Refer to family bible and letters by Lillian Arnold copied by C.H. Schaaff. Elizabeth died leaving very young children in 1845 and Willie apparently lived with grandparents as he shows with them in 1850VA census. Buried at home of Albert Jeffress in Charlotte Co. VA.

Obit UA 7Oct1891 p2-4. Born in Wyoming NY went to Illinois returned to Rochester in 1844 to marry Sarah. Other ref says they mar in Holly NY.

Henry told the census taker in 1865 that he was born in Canada. 1850 census shows Henry Averill, age 17, in Rochester, a carpenter, living with Leonard Brown, carpenter, from Bellville, Ont.


63. Catherine Cochrane

Tomb Stone in Mt. Hope Cem Rochester NY. lot 419 Sec O. int: 3-9-22. She told the enumerator in 1865 NY Census that she was born in St. Laurence Co. NY and her age. Her birth was written on the back of a portrait in the hands of Cathy Angell.
