You must quote the folio number when ordering the copy of a birth entry. The folio number relates to the district in which the event was recorded.

It is advisable to purchase a micrographic copy of the entry - NOT an official certificate. This copy is a photocopy of the entry as written in the register book. The copies are produced on either A4 or A3 size paper, depending on the record in question and the size of the book in which it was originally recorded. As an official certificate is typed from the register book mistakes can be made.

Note: the information on a number of these records is not always correct.

The cost of each micrographic copy is $NZ 9.00 per request when the correct year is given.
