American Legion

According to Mickey McHeran's book Wissinoming, my hometown, the Wissinoming Memorial Legion Post 786 was chartered in 1945 and first met in the Walmbold home on Vankirk St.  In 1948, the Post purchased the former Post Office Building at 4706 Comly St. for their home.  In 1952, a bronze plaque was dedicated at the Post Home to honor all the Wissinoming veterans killed in WWII.
