The Western Star newspaper of Lebanon, Ohio printed an article on 28
Aug 1884 in which it was stated that Michael Keever and Susan had two
daughters as well as the three known sons. Their names were not
given.
That same article referred to George Keever, father of Dr. Moses H.
Keever, as a cousin of the sons of Michael. This provides the evidence
that this Michael and Martin H. Keever were brothers.

[222]
George son of John Spiznogle, of Jefferson township , was working in
the field with another young man by the name of Rosenberger last
Tuesday afternoon. When they saw the storm approaching they started
home with their teams. The storm overtaking them, they tied their
horses and entered an old vacant house on the Lon Hook land, on the
south bank of the Spiznogle lake. It is story and a half house and
they went up stairs and to gether near the window where watching their
teams and talking note of the storm. Young Rosenburger noticed a
flash of lightning and saw his companion fall, killed instantly, but
he was not injured in the least. When the storm subsided young
Rosenberger carred the cold lifeless form down stairs, laid it in the
wagon, and drove to Mr. Spiznogle's house where he and one of the
Parsons set on the front porch chatting. The father inquired where
his son was and was told that he was in the wagon dead. The father
was horrified by the sudden and unexpected intelligence, and rushing
to the wagon, grasped his boy in his arms. So beside himself was he
with grief that it was considerable time before he could be parted
from his boy, or permit his remains to be taken in to the house. The
father overcome with grief was confined to bed for a time.
Dr. Tustison went over yesterday morning to Mr. Spiznogle's and
examined the boy. He found his left ear and side of his neck
discolored, a couple of spots on the forehead, and marks on on the
left leg. The top of the left shoe was torn off. The electric
current had entered the end of the house and started down the studding
against which the young man was leaning, slightly splintering the
timber in its passage. Nature's battery does not measure its charges
by volts, but carries with it death more quick and painless than is
possible by the puny machine of human invention.
The case is one peculiary painful and deserving of sympathy of the
bereaved family. The young man was held in high esteem by his
neighbors, was in his 18th year, the only son, and in his life were
wrapped up the hopes of a fond father and three loving sisters. The
mother had died when the children were small, but the father had kept
them together untill the son had reached the age when he could relieve
the father of much of the care and toil of the farm and the closing
days of his life wich has like most lives, been a ceaseless stuggle,
that calm and peace which it so much covets, and would have enjoyed.
The remains were laid to rest in the Mallory cemetary at 2 p. M.
Yesterday.
