Maynard, Estel. Eli lived in Lebanon, SD in 1925. Eli's sons Ralph,
Ernest, Lloyd and Donald lived in Muscatine IA in 1952. When Eli
died, he had 28 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Hatfield. They were divorced in the late 1950s, and later Barbara
married Charlie Hudson of Muscatine.
Bonna Martin at 16 married on 3-1-53 by Freeman L. Schmitt to Raymond
Curtis Peterson at 18.
Janet Martin at 17 married on 9-26-53 to George I. Wagg at 19.

Eli's Obituary printed April 29, 1952 probably in the Muscatine, IA
paper:
Eli W. Martin Goes in Death; Rites Thursday
Eli W. Martin, whose home was at 103 Benham avenue, died at 4:40 a.m.
today at 115 Clinton street, where he had been residing because of the
flood situation in South Muscatine. Death followed an extended
illness.
He was born Oct. 12, 1887, in Rock Island Co., Ill., the son of
William and Armilda Thomas Martin. He had been a resident of
Muscatine for the past 21 years and was last employed at the Peter
Products Company.
His marriage to Alta Anna Howard took place August 17, 1908 in
Muscatine. She survives alone with five sons -- Ralph, Ernest, Lloyd
and Donald of Muscatine and Floyd in service with the Marine Corps;
three daughters , Mrs. Genevieve Kallenberger, Mrs. Virginia Wilson
and Mrs. Frances Morgan; one brother, Allen of Kirksville, MO; two
sisters, Mrs. Iva Schley of Burr Oak, IA and Mrs. Mina Meuters of
South Dakota; 28 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and one brother.
The body was taken to the Fairbanks Home for Funerals and will
remain there for services at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Freeman L.
Schmitt, pastor of the Lincoln Boulevard Baptist Church, will be in
charge of the services and burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.

Eli and Alta took their six sons to SD around 1917, and returned to IA
in about 1930. The three daughters, Genevieve, Virginia, and Frances
were born in SD, and the youngest son Floyd was born in Muscatine, IA.
Son Ralph married a girl in SD. Eli had heart trouble all his life.
All the kids had heart trouble. Genevieve practically raised
Virginia. Most of the kids died young of heart trouble, LLoyd was 47,
Floyd was 52. Floyd had worked for the Union.
