SERVICE MONDAY FOR ANGELE ZWYNEN
Funeral services for Angele Jeanne Zwynen of Portland,
were held Monday at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father William
Shaw conducting the requiem mass at 11 a.m.. Recitation of the Rosary took
place Sunday evening, Sept. 15, at 8 p.m.
Angele Zwynen was born December 25, 1894 in Liege, Belgium
and came to the United States as a girl in 1920 to marry Garrett Zwynen at
the Catholic Church in Goldendale. She lived in White Salmon from 1922 in
1956 and had lived in Portland for the past 10 years.
Death came on Thursday, September 12 in Portland.
Interment was at the White Salmon cemetery with the following
casket bearers: Dr. Wayne Henkle, Orie Kreps, Emile Stratton, Marion Babb,
Keith McCoy and Clarence Bangert.
The deceased was well-known for her voice and her passing
came as a shock to many of her close friends.
Surviving are Garrett Zwynen and five nieces and a nephew:
Henrietta Cox, Hood River; Margaret Creighton, Goldendale; Mamie Sharrard,
Arlington; Lillian Crawford, Chicago; Derkye Dugger, Bingen and Everett Johnson,
Portland.

ANGELE ZWYNEN SERVICES HELD SEPTEMBER 16
Angele J. Zwynen was born Decemher 25th, 1894 in Liege,
Belgium, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Vivignis. She came to the United
States in April of 1920 and was united in marriage at the Catholic Church
in Goldendale; Washington to Garret Zwynen. She had resided in White Salmon
from that year until 1956 spending the past 10 years in Portland, Oregon.
Mrs. Zwynen was noted for her beautiful singing voice
and later as a speaker at many occasions in this community.
Her passing on September 12 in Portland came as a shock
to Mr. Zwynen and her many friends in Portland and White Salmon. Surviving
are Mr. Zwynen and several nieces and a nephew.
Henrietta Cox of Hood River, Oregon; Margaret Creighton
of Goldendale, Washington; Maimie Sharrard of Arlington, Oregon; Lillian
Crawford of Chicago, Illinois; Derkye Dugger of Bingen, Washington; and nephew:
Everett Johnson of Portland, Oregon.
