MRS. WASSON IS TAKEN BY DEATH
Mrs. Anna M. Wasson, 90, died at 11:50 o'clock P.M. at
the home of her daughter, Mrs. Oscar Herndon, 2 1/2 miles southeast of Hope,
following a long illness.
Mrs. Wasson was the widow of Nathan Wasson and had lived
with her daughter since his death on Sept. 14, 1936. Before that time, Mr.
& Mrs. Wasson had lived north of St. Paul in Shelby County. She was the
sister of Mrs. Emma Pike of Columbus.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon
in the Norman Funeral Home at Hope. Burial will be made in the Hawcreek Cemetery,
northeast of Hope.
She had been in ill health for several years, and suffered
a stroke 4 weeks ago. She was born near Newberg on Dec. 14, 1849, the daughter
of Jonathan and Nancy Webb.
Survivors include 3 other daughters, Mrs. Perry Smiley
of Ridgefield, Wash., Mrs. Monta Mounts of Indianapolis and Mrs. Oscar Osting
of Greensburg; one son Shirley Wasson of St. Paul; one other sister Mrs.
Jane Misner of Franklin; one brother John Webb of Greensburg and eleven
grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Norman Funeral Home and will
be returned to the home of Mr. & Mrs. Herndon tomorrow. Mrs. Wasson was
a member of the Milford Methodist Church.

ANNA M. WASSON DIES NEAR HOPE
Succumbs at Age of 89 at Home of Daughter -- Was native of Near Newburg,
Decatur Co.
Mrs. Anna M. Wasson, 89, passed aways at the home of
her daughter, Mrs. Oscar Herndon, two and one-half miles southeast of Hope
Thursday night following a four weeks' serious illness. She had been in declining
health for several years, suffering a stroke of paralysis a month ago.
A native of Decatur county, Mrs. Wasson was born near
Newberg on Dec. 14, 1849. She was the daughter of Jonathan and Nancy Webb.
For many years she resided north of St. Paul until the passing of her husband
on Sept. 14, 1936. She had since made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Herndon.
Mrs. Wasson was a member of the Milford Methodist church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Herndon, Mrs Perry
Smiley, of Ridgefield, Wash., and Mrs. Monta Mounts, of Indianapolis; a son,
Shirley Wasson, of St. Paul; two sisters Mrs. Emma Pike, of Colorado, and
Mrs. James Misner, of Frankfort; a brother, John Webb, of Decatur county;
and eleven grandchildren.
The body will be taken to the home of the daughter, Mrs.
Herndon, Saturday afternoon, it was announced. Funeral rites will be held
Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Norman Funeral Home at Hope. Burial
will be in the Hawcreek cemetery northeast of Hope.
