"Bingen"
(Observer)

Mr. William Balzhiser, the locating the engineer for the Columbia River & Mt. Adams Railroad, and Mr. Baldy, the chief engineer of the surveying corps, have been making their headquarters at the Maple Hotel. Mr. Balzhiser is engaged in making up his report of the survey, maps, blue prints and other work necessary preliminary to commencing actual construction of the work. We understand that the matter of the right-of-way is practically secured, although there are a few non-resident property owners, living in the East, which will take a little time to close out. We think we may state on good authority, that construction work will commence early in the spring, and that before Christmas Day, 1910, the cars will be a running from Bingen Junction to Trout Lake, thus opening up a new era for the whole country.
