BOYS’ TOWN WON PIG LAST WEEK

Camp Columbia Boys Town won a pig last week at Hood River; it happened like this: The Indian Creek Sheep and Swine Club of Hood River were over at The Dallas at the Wheat League Live Stock Show to buy a lamb for the Shrine Hospital.  To pay for the lamb they had to raffle off a pig.  Now this was no mean pig for it came from the stables of the Orland Duff pure bred Duroc-Jersey Piggery, Hood River.  The Hood River County Agent and members of the Indian Creek Sheep and Swine Club are out to do two good turns in one swoop and marked all the tickets they purchased in favor of Camp Colombia.  A camp ticket was the winner and “Chocolate Drop” the latest edition to Boys Town is now gazing at Mt. Hood from the Washington side.  Victor Sergeant made the presentation to Major Blake, the Camp Supt., with the promise they would help the Boys raise “Chocolate Drop” until she attains the status of “Motherhood”.  The C.M. and W. O. Sheppard Co. of Hood River donated a hundred pound sack of pig vitamins to give get the young lady off to a good start.
