COLUMBIA BOYS ASSOCIATION NAMES AL LERMO AS NEW PRESIDENT
Eagles Lodge To Give Benefit Entertainment For Boys Town

The Board of Trustees of the Columbia Boys Association, Incorporated, met last Monday night at the City Hall with decks cleared for action.  Election of officers was first on the agenda, three posts being up  for election.  Al Lermo was elected president, Joe Crowe, vice-president and Collins Finch, secretary.  All were elected unanimously.  This group constitutes the executive board.  Plans were discussed for the adopting of general policies governing an organization of this type and the question of financing Camp Columbia received special attention.  It was decided by the Board that the Executive Board, together with the camp director, would pass on the qualifications of boys to be admitted to the camp.  A committee of the Eagles met with the board to announce the intention of the local Eagles to gain the support of the entire organization in Washington.  This matter had received the approval of the State Eagle President, Ervin Kain, and plans are on foot to bring the matter before the state convention for over-all approval.  Each Aerie in the state will be asked to stage an activity, the proceeds of which will be placed at the disposal of the Board of Trustees of Camp Columbia.  It was planned by the Eagles to present a goat which each Aerie has to keep until they have for filled their obligation by staging a show.
White Salmon-Bingen Aerie No. 2210 will start the ball rolling with a music and dance extravaganza to be staged at the High School Auditorium in White Salmon on Friday, February 16th at 8 p.m.  A galaxy of dancing stars will be headlined from The Dalles, Oregon, while another feature will be Bobby-Sox Minstrel Troupe played under Black Lighting provided by the Lerman Pacific Northwest Enterprise.  The center feature of the program will savor of Grand Opry when the local Aerie of the Eagles will pantomime Robert W. Service’s famous poem, The Shooting of Dan McGrew.  All proceeds of this concert will go for Boys Town.
