GOES EAST TALKING CO. DIVISION
H.D. Cole of Camas Valley left Wednesday for New York state to visit a brother whom he has not seen for 37 years. Mr. Cole is one of the old settlers of Camas and though he has sold all his swamp land, most of his holdings, is still interested in the development of the valley, saying that with the reclamation of 7,000 acres of land by drainage and the bringing of thousands of other acres under irrigation -- which is still a possibility -- together with its saw mills and grazing tracts, the district is bound to attract a railroad. Mr. Cole is also enthusiastic for county division as he believes it would be more economical and convenient for them at the same time adding impetus to still further development. Mr. Cole is accompanied as far as Chicago by Dr. Collins and wife of Goldendale and Leon Curtis and wife. The latter will also visit the East before returning.
