HISTORY OF VALLEY TO BE RECALLED
A study of Hood River County history will be climaxed
Saturday night by the Camp Fire Girls of the county when the Grand Council
Fire, in charge of Mrs. Eugene Euwer of Parkdale, is held at the Legion Hall.
The historic study is a part of the Americanism project, currently followed by Camp Fire over the country. The public is invited to the program, which will begin at 7:30.
Among the numbers on the program will be an account of the history and early pioneers of Hood River Valley by Mrs. Max Moore. The candle-lighting ceremony will be conducted by the Pine Grove girls, counseled by Mrs. Betty Seaton. Candle-extinguishing will be carried on by Mrs. W.R. Beatty's Hood River group. The Bluebirds, led by Mrs. Robert Samuel, will dramatize the historic lore of Memaloose Island. Each girl in the group of Miss Ariss Jones' 13 Camp Fire Girls will put on a skit of pageantry, each girl representing one of the 13 original American colonies. Other groups will dramatize historical events of the Valley.
Exhibits of regular Camp Fire work will be shown and awards to various girls for completion of birthday honors will be made.
The recent doughnuts sale conducted by the Camp Fire groups resulted in the sale of more than 200 dozen doughnuts.
