HOOD RIVER 4-H CAN FOOD FOR CAMP COLUMBIA

Camp Columbia boys were hosts to the “Merry Canners and Freezers” group of the Hood River 4-H Food preservation club on Wednesday.  The girls with their leader Mrs. Lois Powell visited the camp bringing with them several boxes of canned applesauce and preserves of all kinds as a sample of just what the girls can and are doing in their 4-H work.
Miss Jennie Clark, county demonstration agent, accompanied the group and after the formal introduction were over with, the girls went on a hike and then enjoyed horse back riding on the Camp's “Old Mare” Roxie.  Delightful refreshments were served by the Camp house Mother Gladys Blake and after gathering up some souvenirs the Hood River visitors were thanked by Major F. H. Blake for their kind interest in Camp Columbia.  The girls expressed their appreciation for a wonderful time and made arrangements for another visit in the future.
The 4-H girls attending were: Janice Powell, Janet Moore, Edith Nichols, Mary Nichols, Dolores Franks, Velma Schwartz.
