The entries have been copied from the vital records in complete form with the exception of using abbreviations listed on the following page. They were copied as they appeared which means they are not necessarily spelled correctly. However I have indexed them using (to the best of my knowledge) the correct spelling of all persons, so they aren't always as they appear in the records.
To save space the doctor's names are not indexed if they signed an entry in the vital records only if the entry is about his family or self. Also it is indexed if he had only signed a couple of entries.
There is always some irregularities in the records such as (1) Many people use their first and middle names mixed around as Maria Pauline or Pauline Maria or Maria P. or Pauline JM., who is really the same person. (2) In some places the year of birth is out of order according to the rest of those listed. Most likely who ever wrote the entries into the register of births was in a hurry and just added them to the bottom of a page therefore causing years out of order.
Also many tines the person who wrote the entries couldn't read the doctors hand writing and wrote what he thought was the correct spelling or name. In all hand written records there appears the hard to tell N or M; N or U; A or O; etc.
If there are two spellings of the name as Tippit or Tippett; Stephens or Stevens; Hendricks or Hendryx, etc. the name is indexed under the name I believe to be correct. You should always check sound alike spellings.
In the death records I have tried to give a reference for the name of the husband of the deceased married woman as this is not asked in the entries.
In the birth records I have tried to give the child's name using other references as most of the time the Christian name is missing from the entries. Many of the Christian names have been added later, but a letter or affidavit to support the entry is missing.
In the third part, births from other sources, I have listed all the births that I have knowledge of with the reference for each entry. This is by no means complete, and has only as many as I had collected by the time this went to press.
