KOREAN WAR VET HERE ON VISIT TO ‘BOYS TOWN’
Sergt. Harvey Heishman of the Tank Company of the 23rd Regiment, 2nd Division
has just returned home after being in action in Korea throughout the entire
campaign.
The Sergt. who was loaned from Fort Lewis to Camp
Columbia to assist in its organization together with his two buddies Sergt. Jim
Blackman and Sergt. Jerry Capwell were called back last year at the outbreak of
the war after a short period of duty at the White Salmon “Boys Town.”
All three boys made out their life insurance in favor
of the Boys project and as a result of the supreme sacrifice made by Sergt.
Capwell the Camp received $5,000.
Harvey Heishman is staying out with the Boys at the
Camp and plans at the termination of his military service to return to Camp
Columbia as a counselor.
