LOCAL EAGLES TO ATTEND SATE CONVENTION
Major F. H. Blake will leave for Hoquiam, Washington, this week to attend the
State Convention of the Fraternal Order of Eagles which takes place on the
14-15-16 and 17th of this month.
Blake will go as a delegate along with Jim Hawes and
John Nichols and will speak in favor of the resolution that is up for
consideration on the matter of the Eagles acting as Big Brothers to Camp
Columbia ”Boys Town of the West”. This resolution is being placed before the
convention by the Mt. Adams Aerie of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a similar
resolution will be presented by the Hood River Aerie at the Oregon State Eagles
convention in Klamath Falls the following week. Blake will appear at the Oregon
Convention also to fight for its adoption.
Should the Eagles pass favorably on this resolution the
same as the Eagles of N. Dakota and S. Dakota have done for Father Cassidy's
Boys Town, Camp Columbia will no longer be a dream.
