MAJOR BLAKE TELLS ABOUT BOYS TOWN
Boys Town was the subject of an address given by Major F. H. Blake at the Eagles
meeting in Goldendale Wednesday night. The meeting was attended by all civic
organizations as part of a local aerie to lend a hand in making the boys project
a success. The Major in addressing the group deplored the fact that in the
Washington State training school we have eight year boys incarcerated there for
the lack of a better place to put them. Camp Columbia, Boys Town of the West,
located at White Salmon, is the answer to that question said Blake and it will
not be long before juvenile officers will have the facilities of this Boys home
placed at their disposal and not have to use the State Institution.
After the meeting at Goldendale the Major left for
Klamath Falls to address the State Convention of the Oregon Eagles requesting
that they “Big Brother” Camp Columbia.
