MT. ADAMS FARM, INC. HAS NEW OWNERS
Largest Pear Orchard In The World Reported Purchased By W.H. Dean And Associates

     The sale of a Mt. Adams Farm, Inc. orchards near Gilmer in the White Salmon valley, to W.H. Dean and associates of Portland and Yakima is reported this week.  The property is the largest in this section, consisting of 1040 acres, 400 of which is in bearing pear orchard, said to be the largest producing pear orchard in the world.
     W.H. Dean, a former White Salmon resident, who in 1908 started the big orchard company, and who engineered again this last sale, will be resident manager.  When Mr. Dean left Wednesday for Yakima to report to his associates, he announced that the sale would probably be fully completed by the first of the month as many matters are still to be arranged and agreed upon.
     The property, which has been owned by Mr. Thompson and many other Minnesota associates, has for several years been managed by H. W. Hamlin, of Underwood, is highly improved with fine buildings, store, etc., and a pear orchard of 400 acres that is in finest of condition.
     Mr. Dean, it is understood, has already been given the management, and this week sent up to the orchard property 18 hives of bees.
     Mr. Dean is well known here and his numerous friends feel assured that the big property will prosper under his management.
