NORTHWESTERN STARTS WORK
Begin Digging Near The Narrows
The first work to be done by the Northwestern of Electric Co., following their surveys, is on the land of Charles Frick at the Narrows west of the Jo. Conger place. Holes are being dug for cement fillings. We understand that the dam is to be at this place, which is a narrow canyon, with the river rushing through at the bottom about 75 feet below. A dam at this point will raise the water to a high level and back it up over considerable area. It is the intention, we are told, to flume the water around the Narrows, which will leave it a dry bed. Frick, the Dutchman, who owned the five acres at this point, and who fled from the right-of-way man, has evidently been found and sold his tract to the Company.
