ARCHIE LAMOREAUX
Services for Archie A. Lamoreaux, 74, White Salmon, were
conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the White Salmon Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints.
Mr. Lamoreaux was born Jan. 10, 1910, in Verden, N.M.,
to Ray and Mabel Asay Lamoreaux and died Thursday in a Portland hospital.
He grew up in Jila Valley, Ariz., and was married in Lordsberg, N.M., to
Melverda Claridge on Dec. 24, 1931. After his marriage he was employed for
a period of time by Southern Pacific Railroad prior to moving to White Salmon
in 1945 where he had since lived.
Prior to his retirement in 1975 Mr. Lamoreaux had been
employed and logging and the lumber industry.
He was a member of the LDS Church.
Survivors include his wife, Melverda Lamoreaux, White
Salmon; children, Andre and Joe Lamoreaux, of White Salmon, Michael Lamoreaux,
Bingen, Yvetta McKee, Seattle, and Lynette McIntyre, Lacey, Wash.; brothers,
Raymond Lamoreaux, American Fork, Utah, and Max Lamoreaux, Australia; sisters,
Zara Johnston, Vera Taylor and Zelma Merkley, all of Mesa, Ariz., Lela Hancock,
Pima, Ariz., Alice Strombert, Pamona, Calif., Anna Lou Manner, Thatcher,
Ariz., and Sybil Jesperson and Buena, both of Arizona; 20 grand-children
and six great-grandchildren.
Interment was in Chris Zada Cemetery in Underwood. Services
were directed by Bateman Funeral Chapel, Gresham, Ore.
