DEATH SUMMONS ABBIE ANDERSON
Recitation of Rosary was said at Gardner's Funeral Home
at 8 p.m. Sunday July 7, and Requiem Mass conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, July
8, in St. Joseph's church, for Mrs. Abbie Anderson , 78, resident here for
48 years.
Mrs. Anderson was born June 12, 1879, in Marshfield,
Wisconsin. Her husband John died in 1923. And from 1926 to 1933 Mrs. Anderson
operated a grocery store in White Salmon - first in premises now occupied
by Lee Whiting's radio shop and later across the street.
Mrs. Anderson died of cancer at Skyline hospital on Friday,
July 5. She is survived by four sons and five daughters.
Sons: John and Francis, both of White Salmon; Walter
and Cecil T. Portland, Oregon.
Daughters: Grace Lutz of White Salmon: Loretta Robinson
of Portland, Ore.; Alice Myer of Martinez, Calif.; Cecilia Lawrence of Pasadena,
Calif.; and Lillian Terry of Spokane.
Officiating at Mrs. Anderson's funeral was her grand
nephew the Rev. Father William Shaw. Pall bearers were Frank Wilke, Chesley
Cuff, Albert Chesney, Reno Ziegler, Fred Wood and Wesley Cox. Burial was
in the Odd Fellow cemetery.
