ALICE B. CHAMBERLAIN
Alice Beaudry Chamberlain, a longtime White Salmon resident,
died Sunday in Hood River, at the age of 73.
Mrs. Chamberlain was born March 15, 1915, in Portland,
Ore., to Gladys A. (Groves) and Guy W. Needham. She was raised in the Snowden
area and married Lawrence Beaudry on June 30, 1934. He died in 1979. She
married Virgil Chamberlain in May 1982, and he preceded her in death in July
1978. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Emblem Club,
Rebekah's and Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She was the former Red Cross Home
Service Chairwoman for many years and was active in the Democratic Party,
where she was a former state committeewoman. She was also a volunteer for
the hospital for many years.
She is survived by a daughter, Jerielle Eccles, Bingen;
sisters Florence Parry and Mildred Verhimes, both of Portland, and Edith
Joyer, Phoenix, Ariz.; and three grandchildren, Teri Eccles, Vancouver, Traci
Eccles, Cheney, and Curtis Eccles, Bingen. She was preceded in death by one
brother.
A mass of Christian burial for Mrs. Chamberlain will
be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with the Rev.
Shields officiating. Vault interment will be at the White Salmon Cemetery.
A recitation of Rosary will be held Thursday (today) at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph's
Catholic Church and visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at Gardner
Funeral Home.
