"Klickitat Intelligence"
Absolon Morris, and old pioneer, died at his home on Spring Creek, Memorial Day, May 30, 1910, of Bright's disease, aged 68 years and 4 months. He leaves to mourn his loss an aged wife, one daughter, one grandson, and one great grandson, besides a host of relatives and friends. "Uncle Ab," as he was familiarly known was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was a quiet, unassuming man, always patient and hopeful; was a true Christian, and had belonged to the Baptist church for many years. He came to Klickitat County thirty-six years ago, and settled on the homestead where he lived at the time of his death. Words of consolation, and a beautiful tribute to his memory, were spoken by Rev. J.E. Adams, on Tuesday afternoon; and he was laid to rest in the Spring Creek cemetery. Peace to his ashes.
