Saunders Service Friday -- Funeral services for Alpha C. Saunders, 67, who died at a local hospital November 19, will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Lyle, Wash., community church. A resident of Klickitat, Wash., Mr. Saunders is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nancy Saunders, four sons, Walter of Glenwood, Wash., Marion of the U.S. army, William, also in the army, and Arthur of Klickitat; three daughters, Mrs. G. Boyes of Glenwood and Mrs. Jack Cleveland and Margaret, both of Klickitat, and by seven grandchildren. Committal will be in the Lyle cemetery.

Saunders Services Held -- Funeral services for Alpha C. Saunders of Klickitat, Wash., who died at a local hospital November 19, were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at Lyle. He was 67 years of age at the time of his death, and committal was in the Lyle cemetery. The body was at the C.R. Callaway & Son chapel.

Friends and neighbors of Mrs. A.C. Saunders and family were shocked to hear of his passing away at The Dalles hospital Sunday evening. Mr. Saunders took ill Friday evening, and was taken to the hospital. He leaves to mourn his passing Mrs. D___ Saunders, four sons and five daughters. They are Sgt. Marion Saunders of the armed forces in Mexico, Sgt. Billy Saunders somewhere in France, Walter of Glenwood, Vivian Boyes of Draper Springs, Ruby Cleveland, Margaret, Blanche, Barbara and Arthur all of Klickitat. Mr. Saunders will be greatly missed, as he has made his home here since 1927.

A very large crowd attended the funeral services held for A.C. Saunders at Lyle Friday. Services were conducted by the Methodist minister. Two songs were sung by Della Monroe and Pearl Scofield. Pallbearers were John Monroe, Roy Greenfield, Vern Modin, Jack Cleveland, Nels Linde, and Melvin Kettleson. He was laid to rest beside his son, Manly, who preceded him in death in 1928 in the Lyle cemetery.
Toni Puckett, a granddaughter of Alpha Saunders, has the following information to add:
My grandfather had 10 children - Manly, Arthur, Walter, William, Marion, Vivian, Ruby, Barbara, Margaret and Blanche.
