ANNIE GREGORY
Carson resident Annie Elizabeth Gregory died of cancer
on April 26, 2002. She was 83 years old.
She was born to Henry and Ebbie (Hensley) Kelly in Ada,
Okla., on Oct. 11, 1918. She grew up in Oklahoma and Louisiana and on Nov.
23, 1935, she married marvin D. Gregory in Eureka, Okla. The family moved
to this area from California in 1954. Mrs. Gregory worked at Dickey Farms
in Bingen and later at Diamond Fruit Cannery in Hood River.
She loved her family and had a great sense of humor.
She always looked on the bright side, knowing that things could get worse.
She always encouraged her family to overlook and grievance they had with
others. She very much believed in the equality of man, especially if they
were willing to work.
Mrs. Gregory's hope for all her grandchildren and great
grandchildren was that they get their education and become an asset, not
a burden, to society. She was liked by all who met her. She also loved to
travel and go dancing.
Mrs. Gregory is survived by her sons Charles D. Gregory
and Marvin D. Gregory; daughter Betty G. Rowe; 12 grandchildren and numerous
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, she died in
1973, all of her siblings, and infant son, and the infant's twin sister,
Esther Palmer, who died on March 3, 2001, at the age of 59.
A graveside service was held at the White Salmon Cemetery
on April 30, 2002, at 3 p.m.
Gardner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
