AGNES EMELIA HACHLER
Agnes Emelia Hachler, 88, a resident of The Dalles, died
at a local care facility on Thursday, March 25, 2004.
She was born March 9, 1916, in Hoquiam, Wash., the oldest
of three children to Erick and Ellen (Bergen) Nielsen. The family moved to
Lyle in 1930, where she attended Lyle Grade School and graduated from White
Salmon High School.
She married Everett Cox in 1936, in Goldendale and they
lived in Klickitat before moving to The Dalles in 1942. In 1945, she married
W.T. Buck Hachler in The Dalles. He died in 1975.
Mrs. Hachler worked for many years for Webbers Cleaners,
was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a former member of the Moose and
Eagle Lodges.
She enjoyed playing her piano and in her younger years
played for many dances in Klickitat County and The Dalles area.
She also enjoyed the outdoors including her yardwork.
She is survived by her son, Dwain E. and his wife Carol
Cox, Lyle; seven grandchildren, Eric, Kathleen, David, Traci, Darrell, Lisa
and Pam; 11 great-grandchildren; her sister, Ida and her husband, Roy Workinger,
The Dalles; and her niece, Marsha Aldinger, Seattle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Buck; her son,
Darrell; her brother, Clarence Nielsen and her nephew, Gary Carter.
Viewing visitation will be held on Monday, March 29,
2004 from 2 to 7 p.m. at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at Spencer, Libby and Powell
Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at 10 am. with Rev. Dorthy Nielsen
officiating. Interment will follow at Balch Cemetery in Lyle.
