AFTERGLOW
In Memory of Miss Agnes M. Balsiger
It was but yesterday I talked with her
And heard her laugh; yes, saw her smile
At some slight jest I told.
In just a little while
Her life had gone.
A hundred times a day you grieve anew,
Each household task her hands were want to do
Serves a reminder. But your loss is her great gain.
Though you can't see her face, or hear her voice again.
She's smiling as she joins the angel throng;
And lifts her voice in the heavens glory song.
The aftermath is sad for you. But she is joyous now; her eyes can see
The Saviours face. Her feat now tread the street of gold.
She is a young; now, she never more grows old.
How happily now in heaven she must be,
To know she'll live there through eternity.
WINIFRED W. JONES.
