SCHWINGE TAKEN IN HEART ATTACK
Amel Frank Schwinge, 57, of Underwood died Thursday,
October 3 at Skyline Hospital in White Salmon following a heart attack. Funeral
services were held Monday afternoon, Oct. 7, at Gardner's Funeral Home in
White Salmon with the Rev. Donald Kaelin officiating. Burial was in the
Chris-Zada Cemetery at Underwood.
Casket bearers were Guy Eccles, Robert Morby, Carl Kapp,
Aubry Houston, Dale Collins and Larry Morby.
Mr. Schwinge was born Nov. 22, 1910 at Ravenna, Mich.
He was married to Helen Mabel Finley July 3, 1934 in Goldendale. He had lived
at Underwood about 50 years.
He worked as a heavy duty mechanic, and retired from
his last job at Broughton Lumber Co., in September 1965.
Besides his widow survivors are a son, James R. of Underwood;
a daughter, Helen Jean Cuffel, of Seaview, Wa.; his mother, Hazel Christensen
of Hood River, Ore.; three sisters, Berniece Holmes of Woodland, Bessie Olson
of Husum and Elva Baker of Underwood; and five grandchildren.

AMEL SCHWINGE SERVICES HELD ON OCTOBER 7TH
Amel Frank Schwinge, 57, of Underwood, died Thursday
of a heart attack at Skyline Hospital in White Salmon. He has been in the
hospital two days.
Schwinge, who was born Nov. 22, 1910, at Ravenna, Mich.,
had lived at Underwood for about 50 years.
He worked as a heavy duty mechanic, and retired from
his last job, at Broughton Lumber Co., in September 1965.
On July 3, 1937, he was married at Goldendale to Helen
Mabel Finley.
Surviving are: his widow, of Underwood; a son, James
R. of Underwood; one daughter, Helen Jean Cuffel, of Seaview, Wash.; Mother,
Hazel Christensen, Hood River; three sisters; Berniece Holmes of Woodland;
Bessie Olson of Husum and Elva Baker of Underwood, and 5 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Gardner
Funeral Home Chapel in White Salmon with the Rev. Donald Kaelin of White
Salmon Methodist Church officiating.
Burial was at Underwood.
