MRS. AGNES SMITH DIES IN VANCOUVER; BURIAL HERE MONDAY
Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes Smith, former Goldendale
resident, were held in Vancouver Monday morning. Mrs. Smith died after a
three-week illness at St. Joseph's hospital.
Interment was at the Spring Creek cemetery Monday afternoon.
Mrs. Smith had served as police matron in the Vancouver police department
for the past two years. Her husband, Steve R. Smith, preceded her in death
more than two years ago. Survivors are two sons, Virgil, of Portland and
Earl of Vancouver; a daughter, Mrs. Edith Evans, Portland and two
grandchildren.
Those from out of town who were here for the interment
were: Earl Smith, Mr. and Mrs. David Evans, Mr. and Mrs. W. Moore, Mr. and
Mrs. Richard Gray, William Gray, Mary Mary Hout, Gaile Cretesur, Mary Arrowsmith,
Harry C. Diamond, Mr. and Mrs. O'Day and Mrs. Lela Gray.
