ARTHUR ISAK BASSE
Arthur Isak Basse was born October 6, 1905, at Quincy,
Ore., to parents, Wilhelm and Wilhelmina Basse, and died at his home in
Centerville March 23, 1968. The Basses moved to Centerville before 1907 and
were members of the pioneer Finnish settlement.
After education in Centerville schools, he was united
in marriage to Ida Maria Crocker on October 16, 192. They were parents of
a son, Bill, and a daughter, Ina Marie.
Mr. Basse was a member of the Finnish Lutheran Church.
He spent his life-time ranching in the Centerville valley and was a member
of the volunteer fire department.
Survivors include the widow, Ida Marie, Bill Basse and
Ina Marie Moore of Wishram Heights, four grandchildren, several nieces and
nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted March 26, 1968, at the
Knosher Funeral Home with Bill Parker officiating. Interment in the Centerville
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tom Carratt, Tim Hansen, Ellwyn Sturgis,
Otis Anderson, William Olson and Wilburt Crocker.
