ALICE JANE MESECHER

     Alice Jane Stith was born Oct. 24, 1869 in Jasper county, Missouri, the daughter of Henry Byron and Micinda Walker Stith, and passed away in Ellensburg, Dec. 14, 1944 at the age of 75 years, 1 month and 20 days.
     She was married to Francis Marion Mesecher on March 25, 1888 in Missouri. They moved to Washington in 1889 and settled in Cedar Valley, later moving to the Spring Creek section where they resided until his death in 1930. Since that time she has made her home in Goldendale and Ellensburg.
     Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Bertha Lord, Mrs. Reba Marsh of Ellensburg, Miss Dacey Mesecher of Yakima, and Mrs. Alice Bruner of Goldendale; four sons, Ernest of Ellensburg; Charles, Harry and Zelbert, of Goldendale; a sister, Mrs. Adah Draper of Kimberley, Idaho, a brother, A.C. Smith of Weiser, Idaho, and ten grandchildren. Two sons preceded her in death, Amos in 1902 and Paul in 1932.
     She was a devoted member of the Goldendale Church of Christ. Services were held from the Phillips Funeral Home Sunday with J.C. Gaw of the Church of Christ officiating. Interment was made in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

MRS. ALICE MESECHER BURIED HERE SUNDAY AFTER SHORT ILLNESS

     Funeral services were held here Sunday for Mrs. Alice Mesecher, who passed away in Ellensburg Dec. 14 after a short illness. She was 75 years old.
     She was born October 24, 1869 in Missouri and was married in 1888 to Francis Marion Mesecher in Missouri. They moved to Washington the following year, settling in Cedar Valley and later moving to Spring Creek. Her husband died in 1930.
     Four daughters survive: Mrs. Bertha Lord, Mrs. Reba Marsh of Ellensburg, Miss Dacey Mesecher of Yakima and Mrs. Alice Bruner of Goldendale. She is also survived by four sons: Ernest of Ellensburg, Charles, Harry and Zelbert of Goldendale; a brother, A.C. Stith of Weiser, Idaho, a sister, Mrs. Adah Draper of Kimberley, Idaho and ten grandchildren. Two sons, Amos and Paul, died in 1902 and 1932 respectively.
     She was buried in the I.O.O.F. cemetery Sunday with J.C. Gaw of the Church of Christ, officiating.
