ARNOLD J. RITTER

Arnold J. Ritter, 66, of Goldendale, died July 17, 2002 in Goldendale.
He was born Nov. 2, 1935 to John Jacob and LuLu Margaret Ritter in Gold Hill, Ore.
Arnie graduated from Goldendale High School in 1955. Following graduation, he married his high school sweetheart Karen Sturgis. While making their home in Goldendale, Arnie worked for the City of Goldendale Police Department. While working for the city, Arnie attended the police academy and completed FBI training. Later he worked security at both the John Day Dam and at Goldendale Aluminum.
Arnie enjoyed camping with his wife and friends, working around his home and doing crossword puzzles.
In his earlier years, Arnie and Karen loved to ride motorcycles together.
Survivors include his wife, Karen, of Goldendale; father-in-law E.C. Sturgis; Lee and Marie Ritter; Joe and Sharon Shattuck, their daughter, Candace; Dustin and Dahlia Shattuck, their children, Shanthel, Shay and Shania; Rick and Tracy Hansen, their children Holly and Haley; Brad Hansen; Chad Shattuck and Melody Quinn; Sandy and Dan Zeigler; Brent and Dixie Benoit, their children Nicole and Skyler; Roger and Lynn Ritter; Janine and Eric Wohlrab, their children Roman and Roland; Michael and Genifer Ritter; Suzanne and Danny Brown and their children Jarene and Raychel.
Funeral services were held July 22in the chapel of Erdman Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Akins officiating. Interment was in the Centerville Cemetery.
